In June 2025, Dr. Navene Shata was crowned Ms. California United States. ​
​
With her platform, she sheds light on the worsening lack of confidence experienced by young girls today. By the age of 17, only 20% of girls say they feel happy about their bodies. Moreover, young girls in underserved communities in California are missing school due to lack of sanitary products during their menstrual cycle.
​
To solve this, Dr. Navene partners with non-profit organizations such as Girls, Inc. to deliver her Queen Series- a series of fun workshops for young girls to gain confidence and learn about their bodies. She also donates sanitary supplies to young girls so they only miss school when they really need to.
The Queen Series
How to Walk, Talk and Act like the Queen You Are

Confidence in middle and high school girls is diminishing by the years. By age 17, only 20% of girls say they are happy with their bodies.
​
In this workshop, girls learn how to walk and talk with confidence. They will learn how to enter a room and sit down, how to make eye contact and speak their minds eloquently.
Developing a Better Relationship With Your Period
​
Girls in underserved communities of California and all over the country are missing school because they can’t get enough sanitary supplies during their periods.
​
In this workshop, girls will learn about the four phases of the menstrual cycle, proper care, including which foods to eat and what physical activity is best.
​
Girls will also be gifted menstrual supplies.
How to Make Friends and Build Lasting Relationships
​
Ever since COVID and the rise of technology, young girls find it more and more difficult to make new friends and build lasting relationships.
​
In this workshop, girls learn how to introduce themselves, make healthy conversation and learn ways to follow up and build on friendships.
Ms. United States - November 2025
Dr. Navene will be competing in the Ms. United States pageant in November 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In order to build her platform and compete to win the title she is looking to partner with Sponsors to help her bring joy and aid to young girls all over America.
